Once our facility is open, Art & Soul will actively seek out nonprofits, individual artists, and members of the community, with whom to collaborate, in order to promote the arts, and bring arts programming and community building projects to Hollywood.

The Art & Soul Center has teamed up with The Hollywood Arts Council to submit an application for historic designation of a beautiful old house in the middle of Hollywood, which has been abandoned for several years. 
The dream is to acquire it in order to open our art center, but the project of historic preservation is exciting in itself!  Architecture is an artform, and we feel it is important to preserve the history and culture of Hollywood.

On November 16th, The Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously to adopt the property as an historic landmark!   And on January 30, 2007, in the final hearing about the property, the City Council also voted to deem the property an historic landmark.  It was a process that took two years, and we are very proud of this accomplishment! 


Hollywood Arts Council is a community-based nonprofit organization formed to ensure that the arts play a significant role in the revitalization of Hollywood. Now celebrating its 28th year, the Hollywood Arts Council has served the community through advocacy, coalition building, free public arts events and after school programs.
